Which period pant is the best? - A review of women’s preferences for period panties

Our motto “Sustainable periods for everyone!” is what we strive for! We do this by providing high quality menstrual cups at affordable prices and by donating cups to charity organizations. Now we are taking one more step toward our goal and are introducing reusable period panties, so that even if you don’t want to use cups, you can still have a sustainable period. 

Reusable period panties have been available for some time, but they used to feel more like thick clumsy diapers than comfortable good-looking underwear. However, there has been a lot of great innovation going on and we have scouted the market to find materials that are safe, soft, absorbent, and breathable.

Since we wanted to create one panty that fits all, we started by asking our FlowCup customers in Europe of their top choice of panty. We received over 700 answers and our design is based on these answers. We think that we now have found the perfect pants that will fit most of you and we hope that you agree! So what did we learn? Which design was best in test? Here is the result of the jury: 

• 70 % had never tried a period pant but 90% were considering buying one. 
• Most wanted to use the panty during both night and day and as an extra protection together with the cup.  
• Most popular model was high waist with full coverage. 
• Most popular color was black. 
• Most preferred a basic design without frills or lace. 
• Most popular material was organic cotton. 
• Preferred absorbency was moderate.   
• The most important attribute is comfort. 
• The panties must be easy to wash.  
• The absorbent layer should be high enough to give full protection.
